View an e-mail message with restricted permission

You can create e-mail messages with restricted permission using Information Rights Management only in Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, double-click the message with restricted permission to open it.

Notes

To view your permissions for a message with restricted permission, read the InfoBar at the top of the message.
Documents attached to the e-mail message can have different permission from the message you received. If you cannot open an attachment, contact the sender and verify the permissions on the document.
If you need to read or open a message with restricted permission but Microsoft Office 2003 or later is not available on the computer you are using, you can download the Rights Management Add-on for Internet Explorer or another program that supports content with restricted permission.
